Colossus Mk II

Colussus Mk II was made by a group of British codebreakers (Tommy Flowers & Tony Sale) and was first put to use on June 1, 1944 (D-day) in Bletchley park .
It was a specialized computer made to translate German secret messages.
The Colossus computer was not a direct predecessor of anything because it was the first large computer dedicated to translating codes.
It quintuples the processing speed with shift registers.
Colossus was regarded as the worlds first programmable, electronic, digital computer.
All of the plans and information for Colossus were burned to keep it secret, and it wasn't until 2008 that a functioning replica was made.
